حيث شهد المنتدى مشاركة واسعة من العديد من المتحدثين الدوليين والخبراء من مصر و الدول الأجنبية والعربية ومنها أمريكا، كندا، وأوروبا والمنطقة العربية وجنوب شرق آسيا
تناولت الجلسات العديد من الموضوعات الهامة حول الوظائف في نموذج الطاقة الجديد ومشاركة الشباب في التخفيف من آثار تغير المناخ. دور القطاع الخاص في تحول الطاقة، وكذلك كيفية تطوير برامج التعليم التي تستجيب للعمل المناخي والطاقة.
وقاد شباب كلية الهندسةوالتكنولوجيا – هندسة الحاسب – جلسة عامة وقدموا نموذجا متحضرا ناقشوا فيه قضايا تحول المناخ والطاقة، وأهداف التنمية المستدامة وقدموا مقترحات ومبادرات نحو آليات التوجه نحو تحول الطاقة وتطويع الخدمة المجتمعية للتحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة. وتعزيز مشاركة الشباب في التخفيف من آثار تغير المناخ.
وتناولت الجلسة الختامية إعلان توصيات المنتدى قدمته الأستاذ الدكتور/ شيرين يوسف رئيس قسم هندسة الحاسب حيث تم اعلان الفرص والتوصيات وتبادل الخبرات حول الاستراتيجيات والمبادرات الناجحة والتعاون ليكون بمثابة منصة يمكن من خلالها تطوير البرامج التعليمية وبناء القدرات لإدراج النوع الاجتماعي كمحرك لانتقال الطاقة وتغير المناخ. وتطويع الخدمة المجتمعية للتحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة، وتعزيز فرص التوظيف وريادة الأعمال. وأشارت إلى إطلاق مصر منظورها الشامل للمرأة والبيئة وتغير المناخ متضمنا تعزيز وجهات النظر الخاصة بالمساواة بين الجنسين ضمن التكيف والتخفيف والاستجابات، وتعزيز مشاركة المرأة في الحوكمة البيئية، ومشاركتها في الانتقال البيئي العادل إلى الاقتصاد الأخضر في سياق تحقيق التنمية المستدامة
Under the esteemed sponsorship of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, and under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sherine Youssef, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, and Professor Dr. Akram Soliman Al-Selmi , Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the main headquarters in Alexandria, the forum was organized.
The forum’s activities were launched in collaboration with the World Bank and the Regional Network for Women in Energy (RENEW MENA), along with the international energy support program (ESMAP) and the International Scientific Association, IEEE, Women in engineering and technology.
The forum witnessed extensive participation from numerous international speakers and experts from Egypt, as well as foreign and Arab countries, including America, Canada, Europe, the Arab region, and Southeast Asia.
The sessions covered a wide range of important topics related to jobs in the new energy paradigm and youth engagement in climate change mitigation. Discussions also revolved around the role of the private sector in the energy transition and the development of education programs that align with climate and energy action.
A plenary session led by the youth of the College of Engineering and Technology – Computer Engineering – showcased a commendable model. They deliberated on climate and energy transformation issues, sustainable development goals, and presented proposals and initiatives aimed at advancing mechanisms for transitioning to clean energy and aligning community service with these goals. The session also emphasized the importance of enhancing youth participation in mitigating the effects of climate change.
During the closing session, Professor Dr. Sherine Youssef, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, presented the forum’s recommendations. These recommendations included the announcement of opportunities, experiences, successful strategies, and initiatives for cooperation. The aim is to establish a platform through which educational programs can be developed, capacity can be built, and gender can be recognized as a driving force behind the energy transition and climate change mitigation efforts. The session also highlighted the significance of adapting community service to clean energy, as well as enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Dr. Youssef pointed out that Egypt has launched a comprehensive perspective on women, the environment, and climate change. This perspective includes the promotion of gender equality within adaptation, mitigation, and responses to climate change, as well as the active involvement of women in environmental governance and a just transition to a green economy in line with sustainable development goals.
